US-Bundesstaat Ohio klagt Hersteller von Wahlmaschinen

Anfang August hat der US-Bundesstaat Ohio eine Klage gegen den Wahlsystemhersteller Premier Election Solutions eingereicht. Dem Hersteller von Touch-Screen-Wahlmaschinen als auch von optischen Lesegeräten wird vorgeworfen, daß diese nachweislich Stimmen bei der Auszählung unterschlagen haben.
Grund dafür ist ein Software-Fehler beim Auslesen der Daten, den der Hersteller mittlerweile bestätigte. Das Problem besteht bereits seit zehn Jahren im System, gab ein Sprecher von Premier Election Systems zu.
